Note: This is a plain-language policy describing how the app currently works.

Privacy Policy

Hefta ("we", "the app") is a strength-training log published by RC Aviation. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

Summary

Information we handle

Account information (required). Signing in is required to use the app. When you create an account or sign in — with email and password or with Google Sign-In — we receive your email address. It is used only to identify your account for cloud backup and restore. Authentication is provided by Google Firebase Authentication.

Training and fitness data. Workouts, sets, exercises, programs, personal records, bodyweight, body measurements and body-fat entries are stored on your device. When you choose to back up, they are copied to our secure cloud database (Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore) linked to your account, so you can restore them on a new phone.

Health information you enter. If you tell us about injuries or areas you need to work around, we use it to avoid exercises that would aggravate them. It is handled the same way as your training data.

Progress photos stay on your phone. Photos you add are saved on the device only. They are never uploaded, never included in a backup, and we never see them. Deleting them in the app or uninstalling removes them.

App activity. We record which features are used and how far people get through a workout, so we can see what is working and what is confusing. This is counts and feature names, not the text you type: a program you name yourself is recorded as "custom" rather than by its name.

Purchase information. If you buy Hefta Pro, the purchase is processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription provider. We receive your subscription status and a purchase identifier. We never receive your card or payment details.

Diagnostics. The app may log basic technical error information to help us fix problems.

Ads and your advertising ID (free version only). The free version of Hefta shows ads, supplied by Google AdMob. To do that, AdMob reads your device advertising ID. This is a number Google gives your phone for advertising. It is not your name and not your email, and you can reset it or turn off personalised ads at any time in your phone Settings, under Google, then Ads. AdMob also receives general information such as your device type and rough location based on your internet connection, and uses it to choose which ads to show and to count them. This is the one thing in the app that shares information with a company outside our service providers, so we say it plainly: if you buy Hefta Pro, ads are switched off and your advertising ID is no longer used.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the app asks your permission before showing personalised ads, and you can change that answer later from Settings in the app.

How we use data

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that make the app work:

We do not sell your personal information.

Security

Data sent to our cloud services is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Hefta is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 18 and over.

Delete your account & data

How to request deletion of your Hefta account

You can delete your Hefta account and its cloud-backed data at any time, in either of these ways.

Option A — inside the app (fastest)

  1. Open Hefta and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete Account.
  3. Confirm. Your account, its cloud backup, and the training data on that phone are all removed.

Option B — by email

  1. Email us from the address associated with your account.
  2. Include the subject line "Delete my Hefta account".
  3. We verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days, then confirm by reply.

What is deleted, and what is kept

DataWhat happens
Account (email / sign-in identity)Permanently deleted
Cloud-backed training & fitness data (workouts, records, bodyweight, body-fat, injuries)Permanently deleted
Progress photosNever leave your device, so there is nothing in the cloud to delete. Removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall
Subscription / purchase recordsRetained only as long as required for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations, then deleted
Advertising IDBelongs to your phone, not to your Hefta account, so there is nothing for us to delete. Reset or limit it in your phone Settings, under Google, then Ads
Data stored only on your deviceCleared when you delete your account in the app. Also removed if you clear the app's data or uninstall it

Deletion of account and cloud data is completed within 30 days of a verified request. Backups are purged on our provider's routine cycle thereafter.

Data retention

Local data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you use cloud backup, your backed-up data remains until you delete your account as described above.

Sharing a phone. The app keeps its data tied to one account. If a different account signs in on the same phone, the previous account's training data, weigh-ins and photos are cleared from that device first, so nobody opens the app onto someone else's history. Anything backed up to the cloud is untouched and can be restored by signing back in.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date near the top of this page.
